He is survived by: his wife Rita Jean Jones Howerton; his children, Wendell Maurice Howerton (Joanie), Joel Scott Howerton (Laine), Mark Anthony Howerton (Kim) and Tina Marie Osborne (Luke); his stepdaughter Shelley Christopher; his sister Margaret Ann McAllister (John); and his sister-in-law Linda Howerton. He is also survived by five grandchildren, eleven step-grandchildren, one great-grandchild.
