She was predeceased by: her parents, David Thomas and Marie Lawson Thomas; and her siblings, Evelyn Johnson, Roderick Thomas, Godfrey Thomas, Kohel Thomas, Isrell Thomas, Oswald Thomas, Eldorado Thorpe, Ashton Thomas, William David Thomas, Effie Olivia Ford, Garland Thomas, Edward Thomas, Ella Louise Thomas and Alexander Thomas.
She is survived by: her husband Samuel Hamlett; her children, Darius Nelson (Anne) of Roxboro, Tonya Hamlett of Durham and Tanella Hamlett of Durham; her grandchildren, LeDarius Nelson (Keelea) of Roxboro, Jarrod Nelson of Fayetteville and Justin Nelson of Fayetteville; her great grandchild Zayden Nelson; her brother Andrew Thomas (Wilhemenia) of Durham; and her sisters-in-law, Martha Thomas of Pikesville, Jean Thomas of Durham, Geraldine Thomas of Roxboro, Pauline Hamlett of Timberlake and Addie Hamlett of Timberlake. She is also survived by other loving relatives and friends.
Visitation was held on Wednesday, November 20th 2024 from 1:00 PM to 6:00 PM at 1271 Lawson Chapel Church Rd, Roxboro, NC 27574. The lying in state will be held on Thursday, November 21st 2024 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at the St. Paul Holy Church (1010 St Paul Church Rd, Roxboro, NC 27574). A funeral service will be held on Thursday, November 21st 2024 at 1:00 PM at the same location.
