In the sacred silence of farewell, Jerry is released into the embrace of eternity, knowing that his light will continue to shine brightly in the tapestry of the lives of his loved ones. And as his memory is carried forward, may comfort be found in the knowledge that love is eternal, and that Jerry's spirit lives on in the beauty that surrounds us.
He was predeceased by: his parents, John Edward and Grace Gravett Puryear; his wife Polly Hite Puryear; and his brothers, Bruce Puryear and Curtis Puryear.
He is survived by: his daughter Kimberly Wall Doucett of Boynton Beach, FL; and his sister Joy Lovelace (Pete) of South Boston, VA.
Visitation was held on Tuesday, April 15th 2025 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Strickland and Jones Memorial Funeral Services (1810 Durham Rd, Roxboro, NC 27573). A celebration of life was held on Tuesday, April 15th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to a charity of ones choice.
