With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of George Nelson Powell of Roxboro, North Carolina, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on December 22, 2024 at the age of 89. He was predeceased by: his parents, William Locket and Mable Clayton Powell; and his son-in-law Darren Whitlow. He is survived by: his wife Brenda Faye Oakley Powell; his children, Sammy Powell (Kim) of Roxboro, NC, Tina Powell of Roxboro, NC, Donnie Powell (Brandie) of Roxboro, NC and Amy Whitlow of Roxboro, NC; his grandchildren, Ashley Turley, Blake Powell, Brittany Powell, Austin Powell, Thomas Duncan, Tanner Duncan, Kyla Powell, Lexi Powell, Ty Whitlow and Kenli Whitlow; and his sister Betty Smith.
