She was predeceased by: her parents, James Lawson and Bettie Lou Vincent; her former husband Preston Edward Davis; her husband Eugene Gatling; her children, Brenda Burton and De'Angelo Davis, Sr.; her siblings, Lucy Thompson, Nancy Hargrove, Hubert Lyons, Jr., Jerry Lyons and Clarence Lyons; and her stepfather Hubert Lyons, Sr..
She is survived by: her children, DeCarlo Davis (Sandra) of Durham, Janice D. Crutchfield of Roxboro, Edward Davis (Angel) of Roxboro, Karen Wright (Martinez) of Roxboro and Evonne Royster (Michael) of Woodsdale; and her siblings, Clifton Lyons of New Brunswick, Curtis Lyons of Durham, Michael Lyons (Phyllis) of Roxboro, Bruce Lyons of Roxboro, Kathy Royal (Phillip) of Woodsdale, Ricky Thompson (Amy) of Roxboro and Howard Lyons of Durham. She is also survived by grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
