We are sad to announce that on December 2, 2024, at the age of 88, Edward Matthew Martin (Roxboro, North Carolina) passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
As Edward departs from our midst, his spirit ascends to join the cosmic dance of stars, a shimmering constellation of memories that will forever grace the night sky of the hearts of those who loved Edward. Though Edward may no longer walk beside us, his legacy lives on — a testament to the enduring power of love to transcend the boundaries of time and space.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Artie Raymond and Carrie Turner Martin; his wife Janie Vernell Roberson Martin; his son Edward Todd Martin; and his brother Huel Martin.
He is survived by: his daughters, Teresa M. Spencer (Tony) and Tina M. Oakley; and his grandchildren, Christy Smith (James), Martin Spencer (Michelle Wiseman), Erika O. Bowers (Jacob), Mandy Gonzalez (Abel), Anna Martinez (Freddie) and Laura Garcia (Pancho). He is also survived by eighteen great-grandchildren, and three great-great grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Friday, December 6th 2024 from 6:30 PM to 8:30 PM at the Strickland and Jones Memorial Funeral Services (1810 Durham Rd, Roxboro, NC 27573).
