She was predeceased by: her parents, Lura Mae Sheets and James A. Sheets; her husband Wayland D Godwin; her daughter Clara Sue Godwin Carrington; and her siblings, Helen Bogue, Dorothy Medlin, Ruby McGee and David A. "Junior" Sheets.
She is survived by: her children, Theresa Smith of Roxboro, Terry Bray of Roxboro, NC, Jason Godwin (Darlene Richards) and Robbie Godwin (Samantha Godwin) of Erwin, NC; her brothers, James "Harold", Carl and Charles Sheets; and her grandchildren, Brittany, Kaylin Parrish, Amber, Kelsey Bray, Khaliah Carrington, Damien Carrington, Jermaine Chavis Jr., Arianna Lee, Kaylin Buskirk, Hollie Godwin and Mia Godwin. She is also survived by nine great-grandchildren.
