She was predeceased by: her parents, Lura Mae Sheets and James A. Sheets; her husband Wayland D Godwin; her daughter Clara Sue Godwin Carrington; and her siblings, Helen Bogue, Dorothy Medlin, Ruby McGee and David A. "Junior" Sheets.
She is survived by: her children, Theresa Smith of Roxboro, Terry Bray of Roxboro, NC, Jason Godwin (Darlene Richards) and Robbie Godwin (Samantha Godwin) of Erwin, NC; her brothers, James "Harold", Carl and Charles Sheets; and her grandchildren, Brittany, Kaylin Parrish, Amber, Kelsey Bray, Khaliah Carrington, Damien Carrington, Jermaine Chavis Jr., Arianna Lee, Kaylin Buskirk, Hollie Godwin and Mia Godwin. She is also survived by nine great-grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Thursday, January 16th 2025 from 5:30 PM to 6:30 PM at the Brooks and White Funeral Home (907 Durham Rd, Roxboro, NC 27573). A funeral service was held on Friday, January 17th 2025 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the same location.
