She was predeceased by: her parents, Aubrey Clayton and Mary Jane Bray Clayton; and her siblings, Randy Clayton and Barbara Clayton. She is survived by: her husband Carlyle Morton; her son Bedford "Johnny" Gentry; her stepchildren, Curtis Morton, Wanda Morton and Debra Kerr; her siblings, Wayne Clayton, Audrey Tarver and Shirley Oakley; and her grandson Andrew Gentry.
Visitation was held on Wednesday, November 6th 2024 from 6:00 PM to 7:30 PM at the Brooks & White Funeral Home (907 Durham Rd, Roxboro, NC 27573). A graveside service was held on Thursday, November 7th 2024 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Oak Grove Memorial Gardens (3712 Cheek Rd, Durham, NC 27704).
