He was predeceased by: his parents, Rufus Muzell Carlyle and Grace Smith Carlyle; and his brother Sammy Carlyle. He is survived by: his children, Randall "Randy" M. Carlyle (Lorie) of Rowland and Lorie Ann Carlyle; his siblings, Terry Carlyle of Aberdeen and Geraldine Cannon of Charlotte; and his grandchildren, Austin Carlyle of Virginia, Lindsay Carlyle of Boone, NC and Ross M. Carlyle of Beaufort, NC.
