She was predeceased by: her parents, John Wesley and Penicher Jones; her husband Gilbert; her daughters, Brenda and Susan Bullard; her grandson Isaac Strickland; her great grandchild Zelda Oxendine; her siblings, Alemeaner Dial, Stella Ritz, Earbell Oxendine, Catherine Locklear, Dinah Locklear, Emma Chavis, Viola Jones, Annie Jones, Sylvia, John Badger, Sterling and McKeithan Jones; and her sons, William Eugene and John Derrick Bullard of Rowland, NC.

She is survived by: her daughter Melinda Sue Oxendine (Roscoe); and her great grandchild Jaythan Bullard. She is also survived by eighteen grandchildren, thirty one great grandchildren, five great great grandchildren.

“When ms Mary came to star Nc several years ago, I had the pleasure of working with her and helping to take care of her. She told me she was my “mamaw” so that’s what I called her. I am saddened to hear of her passing, but I thank you for sharing her with me. She was truly a blessing for me everyday when I came to work.”
