It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Homer Strickland of Rowland, North Carolina, who passed away on December 7, 2023, at the age of 76, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, McKinley Strickland and Viletter Lowry Strickland; his granddaughter Harlee Tarrell Strickland; and his siblings, Reggie, Molan, Nathan, Paul Cookie', Kenny, Edith, Annie Ruth, Berlene, Perlene and Alma.
He is survived by: his children, Shirlene Strickland, Darlene Chavis (Timmy), Homer Strickland Jr. and Paul Anthony Strickland (Rachel); his sisters, Dottie Locklear (Jerry), Mary Helen Royal and Lillie Jane Kalie; his grandchildren, Maranda Strickland, Destiny Locklear, Austin Locklear (Lauren), Cerles Locklear, Zachary Timmy Chavis (Jordan), Emma Strickland, Scarlett Strickland and Ellie Strickland; and his friend Jimmy Dean Locklear. He is also survived by nine great grandchildren, a host of nieces and nephews.
