He was predeceased by: his parents, Jodie Lewis and Hattie Jane Huggins Lewis; his wife Adell Locklear Lewis; his grandchildren, Marina Chavis, Leona Lewis, Maelyia Lewis and Hezachi Oxendine; and his siblings, JB Lewis, Albert Leo Lewis (Jim), Horace Lewis (Skin), Delmus Lewis, Hattie Mae Hunt, Stella Mae Lewis and Clara Hunt (Pat).
He is survived by: his children, Carmela Hunt (Gary) of Lumberton, NC, Hattie Lewis (Robert) of Lumberton, NC, Denise Mercer of Maxton, NC, Jason Lewis of Winston Salem, NC, William G. Lewis (Natisha) of Pembroke, NC, Mickey Locklear of Rowland, NC and Randy Lewis; and his sister Catherine Levinson of Greensboro, NC. He is also survived by 20 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends.
