She was predeceased by: her parents, Dallas Hunt and Maybelle Chavis Hunt; her husband James Alton "Hobo" Chavis; her children, Alton Ray Chavis and Abigail Chavis; her sister Doris Hunt; and her sister-in-law Carolyn Hunt.
She is survived by: her children, Joyce Chavis Maynor of New Mexico and Marylene Sealey (Kip) of Rowland; her siblings, Linda Wallace (Jerry) of Liberty, Vardell Hunt (Ann) of Aiken, Wendell Hunt (Rebecca) of Rowland, Billy Hunt of Liberty, Marshall Hunt (Melissa) of Red Springs and Wilbert "Buddy" Hunt (Patricia) of Red Springs; and her grandchildren, Jamison, Justin, Alexis, Jerry, Victor, Shannon and Chasity. She is also survived by thirteen great-grandchildren; one great-great grandchild as well as a host of relatives and friends.
