He was predeceased by: his parents, Bemes H. Oxendine and Lacy Jr. Oxendine; his daughters, Brenda Rose Oxendine and Roxanne Jones; his grandchildren, Logan Currier, Raven Currier, Chloe Currier, Zoey Currier, Gabriella Currier, Bracy Logan Jones and Jarrett Oxendine; and his brother Elwood Jones.

He is survived by: his wife Paulette J. Oxendine; his children, Gerard Scott (David), Gretchen Chavis (Bill), Dewayne Oxendine (Monica), Ronnie Jones (Rebecca), Charity Jones (Bracy), Paulita Jones, Gary Jones (Jessica Locklear) and Aliceson Currier (Robert); and his siblings, Marguerite Oxendine, Gypsie Diane Locklear, Wilma J. Clark, Carloyn Bullard, Cathy Jacobs (Eugene), Jerry Oxendine (Mercy) and Larry Oxendine. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
