She was predeceased by: her sons, Emanuel and William Kamalu; her parents, Olen Quick and Jennifer Lee Quick; and her sisters, Shirley Faye Lowery, Emery Ann Sledge, Angie Barnhill, Mary Elizabeth Caulder and Versie Mae Lowery.
She is survived by: her sister Pearl Carter of Clarkton, NC; her children, Donna Kamalu of Pembroke, NC, Timothy Kamalu (Heather) of Rowland, NC and Zakisha Jacabs of Rowland, NC; her mother-in-law Meta J. Hughes; her sisters-in-law, Nancy Williamson, Andrea Smith and Pamela Jacobs; and her close friend William Earl Kamalu. She is also survived by ten grandchildren; six great-grandchildren.
