He is survived by: his wife Jean Vaughan McCorkle; his daughters, Rhonda McCorkle Cates of Durham, NC, Tina McCorkle Hathaway (Jimmy) of Ernul, NC, Lori McCorkle Hill (Bryan) of Bryon, GA, Brenda Weaver Duke (Michael) of Oxford, NC and Deborah Weaver Kidd (Mike) of Franklinton; his siblings, T. J. McCorkle of Durham, Gerald Wayne McCorkle of Eden, NC, Vickie M. Ferrell of Durham, Kathy Sue M. Hicks of Durham and Elizabeth "Libby" M. Green of Durham; his grandchildren, Heather Foy, Tonya McFalls, Jessie Hathaway, Dusty Hathaway, Tyler Hill, Jason Duke, Jessica Joyner and Lyndsay Parker; and his pet Buddy.

Visitation was held on Tuesday, February 18th 2025 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Bethany Baptist Church (245 Bethany Church Rd, Rougemont, NC 27572). A funeral service was held on Tuesday, February 18th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the same location.
