He is survived by: his wife Janet Vaughan Tilley; his children, Becky Tilley (Mark Mullen) of Goldsboro, Kenneth Tilley of Timberlake and Kris Tilley of Wake Forest; his siblings, Ray Tilley (Belinda) of Durham and Joyce Atkins of Hillsborough; and his grandson Samuel Mullen (Julia).
