It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Dayton C. Gates of Rougemont, North Carolina, who passed away on June 10, 2020, at the age of 92, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, James Gates and Ruth Gates; and his siblings, Golda Gates, Frances Lane, Lyda Ruth Riggs, Mack Ray Gates, Barbara Clayton and Jean Clayton.
He is survived by: his sons, Larry Gates (Tammi) of Wilmington, NC and David Gates of Rougemont, NC; and his grandchildren, Zachary Gates of Durham, NC, Kathleen Gates of Chamalieres, France and Samantha Gates (Maci Gates) of Charlotte, NC.
In lieu of flowers, the family request that memorial donations be made to Red Mountain Baptist Church Building Fund: 1322 Red Mountain Baptist Church Rd., Rougemont, NC 27572.
