He is survived by: his wife Irene; his daughter Sandra Raines (Steven) of Rosman; and his siblings, Harry Powell (Carolyn), Gerald Powell (Mary), Jimmy Powell, Avarie Gillespie and Johnny Stewart Powell. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
