He was predeceased by: his parents, Lee Nicholson and Ethel Nicholson of Rosman; his siblings, Julius Lee, Gertha (Barbara), Leslie Nicholson (Helen) and Loretta Levonne Sisk (Ira); and his grandson Micheal Brian Benson.
He is survived by: his wife Clara Jeanne "Jeannie" Nicholson; his sister Shirley Gillespie (Lester) of East Fork; his children, Karen, Roger (Dana), Ray, Pamela (Dave) and Tina (Danny); and his grandchildren, Amy, Daisy, Wendy, Mary Elizabeth, Daniel, Lacy Jeanne, Cagney, Erica, Anna, Chelsea, Heather, Luke, Gabriel, Nicolas, Carey and Kelly Ann. He is also survived by great-grandchildren.
