He was predeceased by: his parents, Fields L. Powell and Hattie Whitmire Powell; his wife Doris Sitton McCall Powell; his stepson Larry McCall; and his brothers, Walter, Billy Joe, Keith, Donald and Pick.
He is survived by: his daughter Cindy Powell Thomas (Larry Thomas); his siblings, Avarie Gillespie, Harry Powell, Gerald Powell and Jimmy Powell; his stepchildren, Barbara Aiken, Ray McCall and Joe McCall; his grandchildren, Justin Powell (Alexis Powell) and Kendra Thomas; and his great grandchildren, Lexi Powell and Amden "Gator" Powell. He is also survived by grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins.
