He is survived by: his wife Margaret "Teddy" Tippett; his son William Christopher Tippett (Amy Nichole) of Autryville; his grandchildren, Alaina Tippett, Caleb Tippett and Addison Tippett; and his siblings, Joyce Kelly (Thomas) of Burlington, Dorothy Sasser (Shaffter) of Hallsboro and Charles Tippett (Shirley) of Burlington.

“We are so saddened to learn of WJ's sudden passing. It was always enjoyable to talk with him during his and Teddy's visits to see my 95 year old mother, Pattie Moore Capps. He was so sweet to her and she is grief stricken. She said that he always insisted that they brought candy and treats to her. He was a good family man and loved all of his family and extended family. We will miss him too. May God grant you peace during this time of mourning. Cousin Pamela and Vincent Broussard”
