He was predeceased by: his parents, Harvis Smith and Mable Giles Smith; and his grandparents, Frederick, Molly Lee Giles, Edmon and Dolly Barnes Smith.
He is survived by: his children, Lynn and Nixon; his wife Lynn Ward Smith; his children, Susan Edwards (Ken) of Charlotte, NC and Stuart Smith of Sampson County; his stepchildren, Jonathan Dewrell of Durham, NC and Heather Edwards of Monroe, NC; his brother Keith Smith; and his nieces, LeAnn Smith and Erika Wilson.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to The Cemetery Fund at Mt. Elam Baptist Church, The Youth Ministry at Village Baptist Church, or to the ministry of your choice.
