He was predeceased by: his parents, Leroy Butler and Minnie Owens; and his siblings, Tammy Butler Martinez and Bobby Owens. He is survived by: his wife Linda Owens; his children, Tara Lynn Ammons of Roseboro, Billy Ammons of Roseboro, Nicole Beaulieu (Bruce) of Fuquay Varina, Kristin Thames (Charles) of Fayetteville, Tony Ammons (Tiffany) of Roseboro and Paul Desentz of Florida; and his siblings, Larry "Hambone" Owens of Greensboro and Vicky Sessoms of Clinton.
