He is survived by: his wife Sandra Thompson Melvin; his sons, Johnathan of Roseboro and Charlie Melvin of Roseboro; and his stepchildren, Deborah Jones of Clinton, Betty Smith of Salemburg, Gloria Johnson of Raleigh, Sandra McMillan of Autryville, Bo Bullard of Middleburg, FL. and Terry Bullard of Roseboro. He is also survived by several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
