He is survived by: his wife Vivian Simmons; his daughters, Amy Fann (Huey) of Roseboro, NC and Janet Barber (James) of Harrells, NC; his sister Durema Koger (Bill) of Charlotte, NC; and his grandchildren, Savannah Kamp (Cody), Courtney Barber, Ryan Barber and Katelyn Fann.

In lieu of flowers memorials can be made to Mintz Christian Academy, 2741 Mintz Road, Roseboro, NC 28382.
