She was predeceased by: her sister Joyce Edge Blackwell. She is survived by: her spouse Gene Allen Johnson; her son Tim (Misa); her grandchildren, LouVeda, Misaki, Shelton and Ezra of Tacoma; her son Terry; her granddaughter Victoria (Tori) of Rochester; and her siblings, Linda Edge Barber (Ronald) of Wilmington, Jerry (Ully) of Tennessee, Joe (Janice) of Roseboro, Danny (Deborah) of Washington, NC and David (Kathy) of Lumberton, NC. She is also survived by 15 nieces and nephews and their children.
In later life, she made the ultimate sacrifice and chose to stay home with her mother who was bedridden and suffering from Alzheimers disease.
