He was predeceased by: his parents, Claude Simpson and Nellie Register Simpson; his wife Minnie Ruth Simpson; his son Arnold Simpson; and his sisters, Catherine Johnson and Shirley Smith.
He is survived by: his children, Connie Calimer of Ruby, SC, Janet Weber and Curtis (Amy Simpson) of Garland; and his siblings, Harry T. (Brenda Simpson) of Roseboro, Larry Simpson of Roseboro, Minnie Lou Dunaway of Thomasville and Ellen (Edward Bradshaw) of Wallace. He is also survived by nine grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.
