He was predeceased by: his father Bobby Joshua; and his niece Angela Brooke Benson. He is survived by: his mother Evelyn Doris Grady Benson; his siblings, Roberta Benson Moody (Michael) of Havelock, NC, Linda Benson of Havelock, NC and Jerry D. Benson of Wilmington; and his nephews, Michael Moody, Jr. and Joshua Benson.
