He was predeceased by: his parents, John Boney and Mary Florence Williams Wells; his wife Dorothy Henderson Wells; and his siblings, John F. Wells, Mary Frances MacMillan, Charlotte W. King and Eloise W. Mohr.
He is survived by: his children, David Alan Wells of Fort Pierce, FL and Dottie Jo Baker (Keith) of Morganton; his granddaughters, Elizabeth Baker Locke (James) and Melissa Baker Ogburn (Joe); and his great grandchildren, Henry Locke, Ila Locke and Hayes Locke. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
