With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Hughlene Murray Smith of Rose Hill, North Carolina, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on November 4, 2024 at the age of 88. She was predeceased by: her parents, Glacus Best Murray and Mildred Atkinson Murray; her husband James Douglas Smith; her brother Tommy Murray; and her grandson Bradley Smith Rhodes.
She is survived by: her daughters, Paula Crosland Martin (Dale) of Wilson, Joy Rhodes (Barney) of Rose Hill and Cindy Picollo of New Orleans, LA; her grandsons, Jeff (Amanda), Eric Martin, Brent (Danna), Chad Rhodes, Hunter and Jett Campbell; her great grandchildren, Mady, Lucy, Maverick, Poppy, Jax, Riley, Chandler, Rivers and Lakes; and her sister-in-law Margaret Murray. She is also survived by nieces and nephews and many loving cousins and friends.
In lieu of flowers, memorials gifts may be made to the Hospice Program of 3HC or to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
