It is with great sadness that we announce the death of David Matthews of Rose Hill, North Carolina, who passed away on November 21, 2021, at the age of 66, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, George Powers and Annie Catherine Barden Matthews; and his brother George Powers Matthews, Jr.. He is survived by: his son Frankie Matthews of Rose Hill; his siblings, Catherine Matthews Hoffmann (Scott) of Charlotte, John Matthews (Lezlie) of Topsail Beach and Laura Matthews of Oak Island; his nephew George Matthews; his niece Katie Claire Hoffmann (Andrew); his great-nieces, Grace Stocker and Margot Stocker; his cousins, Cecil Rhodes and Caroline Spivey; and his friend David.
