She was predeceased by: her parents, Almon Hill Carter, Sr. and Alice Hussey Carter; her husband Ammie Ray Sanderson; and her siblings, Grace Hussey Carter, Elizabeth Fields and Almon Hill Carter, Jr..

She is survived by: her children, Ray Sanderson, Jr. (Connie) of Harrisburg, NC, Debbie Thomas (Ken) of Raleigh, NC and Kim Sanderson of Raleigh, NC; her grandchildren, Jeffrey Sanderson, Chris Sanderson, Brittany Allred (Lindsay) and Cameron Thomas; her great grandchildren, Michael and Hunter Allred; and her sisters-in-law, Marion Glyn Carter and Grace Farrior. She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and extended family and friends.
