He was predeceased by: his parents, Howard Chappell and Bernice Winslow Chappell; his granddaughter Rachel Sharpe; and his brothers, Charles Chappell and Ronald Chappell.
He is survived by: his wife Toledo Cammon Chappell of Roper, NC; his daughters, Vanessa Chappell Leggett (Timothy) of Winterville, NC and Patty Chappell Sharpe (Robert) of Portsmouth, VA; his sisters, Mary Lucille Jones of Roper, NC, Elizabeth Brinkley of Sunbury, NC and Kaye Winslow of Belvidere, NC; his grandchildren, Joshua Leggett, Sierra Murray, Caleb Leggett and Matthew Sharpe; and his great grandchildren, Faith, Jordan, Ryleigh and Isabel.
Visitation was held on Tuesday, November 12th 2024 from 6:00 PM to 7:30 PM at the Roper Pentecostal Holiness Church (311 Buncombe Ave, Roper, NC 27970). A funeral service was held on Wednesday, November 13th 2024 at 1:00 PM at the same location.
