With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Velma Long Spruill (Roper, North Carolina), born in Columbus, North Carolina, who passed away on September 25, 2020 at the age of 82. Leave a sympathy message to the family on the memorial page of Velma Long Spruill to pay them a last tribute.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Nolon F. Long and Inez Nobles Long; her sisters, Evelyn Ward and Doris Strickland; her son-in-law Clarence Chappell, III; and her grandsons, Bryan and Ryan Chappell.
She is survived by: her daughters, Vickie Harris (Norman) and Sharon Chappell (Mark Symons); her siblings, Debbie Etheridge of Whiteville, Brenda Hilbourn of Cerro Gordo and Nathan Long of Chadbourn; her grandchildren, Travis Harris (Angela), Jared Harris (Desiree) and Heather Dalcourt (Michel); and her great grandchildren, Thomas Harris, Caleb Dalcourt and Layla Harris.
Due to the Covid-19 Pandemic, no formal visitation is planned, but friends are invited to visit with the family immediately following the service, or all other times at the residence.
