With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Myrtle Rawls Griffin of Roper, North Carolina, who passed away on November 1, 2023 at the age of 90. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Gilbert Rawls and Lena Rawls; her husband Verlin Griffin; her brother Robert Rawls; and her son-in-law Ron Taylor.
She is survived by: her children, Debra Griffin of Alpharetta, Georgia, Keith Griffin, Terri Taylor of Williamston, Jeff Griffin (Martha Rae) of Roper and Tim Griffin (Janet) of Roper; her grandchildren, Whitney Smith of New York City, Hannah Smith of Alpharetta, Georgia, Lydia Griffin of Jacksonville, Joseph Griffin of Dunn and Katie Katzman (Michael) of Charlotte; her great grandchildren, Sam and Will Katzman; and her brother Joseph Rawls of Bear Grass. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, Myrtle's request was memorial contributions be made to Roper Baptist Church, PO Box 38, Roper, North Carolina 27970 or the organization of one's choice.
