It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Denise Lilley Jones of Roper, North Carolina, born in Washington, North Carolina, who passed away on May 16, 2023, at the age of 68, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Sylvester Lilley and Nola Higdon Lilley Jako. She is survived by: her children, Austin Wilson (Melissa) of Wilmington, NC and Adrienne Wilson (Joe Suleyman) of Wilmington, NC; her sister Susan Chappell (Hal) of Elizabeth City; her grandchildren, Adaline Piper Wilson, Myla Ann Roy and John Kolesin Wilson; her nieces and nephews, Hannah and Hunter Chappell; and her friends, Glenda and Scott Smith of Plymouth.
Because of Denise's love for all four-legged animals, the family asks that flowers be omitted and contributions in her memory be made to any chapter of the SPCA, or other animal shelters and adoption centers.
