It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Shelba Lawson of Ronda, North Carolina, who passed away on January 20, 2022, at the age of 85, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Herbert Key and Katie Key; her husband Posie Lawson; her children, Dwayne Carter and Cheryl Lynn Carter; and her siblings, Cecil Allen Key, Hassell Key, Max Key, Rex Key, Larry Key, Herbert Key, Jr., Elizabeth "Lib" Wagoner, Georgia Long and Ruth Beeson.
She is survived by: her sons, Gregg Carter of Elkin and Nickey Carter (Tammy) of Ronda; her sister Kay Jolly of Roaring River; her grandchildren, Cassey Brooke Carter, Matthew Gregg Carter, Nickey Brian Carter, Jr. (Kali), Joshua Dwayne Carter and Jade Nicole Carter; and her great grandchildren, Garry Brian Money and Lawson Brian Carter.
