She was predeceased by: her father Fred Hemric; her husband Eugene Brooks; her son Jimmy Brooks; and her siblings, Lucille "Duck" Pinnix, Annie Wagoner, Nellie Sue Mathis, Roy "Buck" Hemric, Jim Hemric, Garvey Hemric, Howard Hemric and Clyde Hemric.
She is survived by: her children, Wayne Brooks (Glenda) and Kim Carter (Mark); her grandchildren, Tricia Brooks, Matthew Brooks (Mattie), Shaun Dowell (Kenneth), Jason Carter, Brandon Carter and Jessica Carter; her great grandchildren, Rachel Ford, Zack Ford, Noah Ford, Aaliyah Martin, Zoe Martin, McKenzie Martin, Kaleigh Carter, Kaleb Dowell and Dylan Dowell; and her brother Troy Hemric of Alabama. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
