He was predeceased by: his parents, Wert Howell and Lucy Grace Patrick Howell; and his siblings, J. C., Grover Howell, Kathleen Mahaffey and Joann Miller.
He is survived by: his wife Regina M. Howell; his stepdaughter Tina Castle; his children, Lucy Dawn Howell Caldwell (Glenn) and Elijah B. Howell (Brittany); his grandchildren, Gretchin "Tadpole", Joanna, Allison "Rosebush", Annie and Justin; and his sisters, Virginia Wyatt, Brenda Hall and Lizzy Royal.
