He is survived by: his wife Peggy Soots Swaim; his daughter Sherry Swaim of Ronda; his sister Carla Jean Swaim of West Jefferson; his grandchildren, Lydia Araujo (Raul), Emily Wood, Paul Joseph Burchette III, Mary Burchette and Garrett Swaim; his mother-in-law Hallie Soots of Ronda; and his nephews, Mark Soots (Bridgett) and Matthew Soots (Maria).
