She was predeceased by: her parents, Mary Bett Brown Merritt and J. Marshall Merritt; her significant other Jerry W Williams; and her brother David T. Merritt. She is survived by: her partner's children, Ginny Poulsen, Lynn and Chris Bruner; her son Alex; her cousin Bonnie Brown; and also, Emily, Billy Lee and William.
A graveside service was held on Sunday, March 30th 2025 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the Rolesville Baptist Church Cemetery (504 Averette Rd, Rolesville, NC 27571).
