She was predeceased by: her parents, Roy W. Reaves and Evelyn Whitten Reaves; and her husband Leslie N. Shade, Jr.. She is survived by: her children, Cynthia M. Shade of Rolesville, NC, Leslie N. Shade III (Debbie) of Marco Island, FL and Sharon A. Shade of Greeneville, TN; her brother Roy W. Reaves (Meryl) of Atlanta, GA; and her grandchildren, Michelle Timmons (Rob) of Sandy Springs, GA, Lindsay Shade of Noblesville, IN, Kathleen Shade of Dunwoody, GA and Leslie Neal Shade IV (Sarah) of Greenville, SC. She is also survived by seven great grandchildren.
