He was predeceased by: his parents, Zeb Whitaker and Pauline Whitaker; his brother William Zeb Whitaker; and his daughter Elizabeth W. Bowen. He is survived by: his wife Betty; his son Barry W. Whitaker, Jr.; his sister Betty W. Frazier of Fayetteville; his grandchildren, Sarah and Ben Bowen; and his son-in-law Mike Bowen.
