He was predeceased by: his wife Susan Bowden Hale; and his brothers, Horace Pat Hale and William Edward Hale, Jr.. He is survived by: his children, John Thomas Hale, Jr. (Karen) and Amy Hale Trussell (Jeremy); his grandchildren, Michael Coleman (Courrtney), Matthew Trussell, Sarah Trussell and John "Jay" Thomas Hale III; his great grandchild Kolton; his sister Brenda Pope; and his close friends, Eileen Riportella, Kent, Nan Ness, John and Cindy Mazierski.
