He is survived by: his wife Barbara Ernster Preo; his children, Ellen Whitman, William "Bill" Preo (Kathy), Maryanne Jarrell (Donald), Jeanne Preo (Bill), Susan Northrop (James) and Many; and his grandchildren, Lauren Bierstedt (Barry), Amanda Shingleton, Jessica Shingleton, Katie Preo (Jonathan), Matthew Jarrell, Amy Jarrell-Givens (Ron), Georgia Northrop, James Northrop III and Audrey Kramer.
