He was predeceased by: his wife Ruby Watts Jarrell; his son Charles Gregory Jarrell; and his sister Linda Kolbeck. He is survived by: his son Jeff Watts Jarrell (Amy); his daughter-in-law Cathy Jarrell; his grandchildren, Matthew, Katie, Kelly (Chris) and Nathan; his great grandchild Kaleigh; and his nieces, Cindy and Cathy.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Pender County Humane Society, UNC-TV or Lower Cape Fear Hospice.
