He was predeceased by: his parents, Bell Marie and Joseph Whitehurst of Tarboro, NC.. He is survived by: his wife Susan Ruddle Whitehurst; his children, Arthur James Whitehurst Jr. (Jamy), Tasha Whitehurst of Wilmington, Christopher Bryan Whitehurst, Marissa Whitehurst of Wilmington, Dustin Gray Whitehurst, Kimi Whitehurst of Rocky Mount, Kelly Mclean Ladd, Michael Ladd of Denver, NC, Katie McLean Watkins and Philip Watkins of Haw River, NC.; and his grandchildren, Ben, Alex, Cayden, Colton, Reese, Emmie, June and Everest.
In his memory, in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the ASPCA, Lower Cape Fear LifeCare (Hospice), or your local HOSPICE organization of choice.
