He was predeceased by: his parents, Macon Edward Martin, Sr. and Blanche Currin Martin; and his siblings, Macon Edward Martin, Jr., John Milton Martin and Shirley Martin.
He is survived by: his wife Ann Rowland Martin; his sons, Wade Mitchell Martin (Joy) of Rocky Mount and Macon Todd Martin (Siobhan) of Mooresville; his grandchildren, Anndria Martin Thorne (Thomas Richard), William Rowland Martin, McKenna Elizabeth Martin, Macon James Martin and Aidan Michael Martin; and his brother Thomas Edison Martin of Raleigh.
