He is survived by: his wife Sheila Everette Harper; his son Walter W. Harper, Jr. (Tiffany) of Rocky Mount; his siblings, Dwight Harper (Layne) of Roper and Margaret Davis of Greensboro; his grandchildren, Cameron, Matthew and Brody Harper; and his stepbrothers, Gray Pope (Jan) of Nashville and Mike Pope of Florida. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews and other extended relatives.
